PAULA SANTORO – BRAZILIAN SINGER

Paula Santoro was born in Belo Horizonte – Minas Gerais. She is heavily influenced by Clube da Esquina (a group formed in the 1970 ‘s and led by Milton Nascimento). In addition to the 6 solo albums already released, her discography includes collaborations on recordings by Guinga, Arthur Verocai, Mário Adnet (album nominated for a Latin Grammy), Bianca Gismonti, Eduardo Neves and others. She is now releasing her 7th album, called Sumaúma, which features João Bosco, João Donato, Toninho Horta, Arthur Verocai and Raul de Souza.

Paula performed  in different states of Brazil with her own band, together  with Duo Taufic and with Ian Faquini (also in the USA and Europe – 2016 and 2017). She has shared the studio or stage with great names in Brazilian popular music, such as: Alcione (tribute to Ary Barroso in London|UK), Chico Buarque, Milton Nascimento, Edu Lobo, Nana Caymmi, Guinga, Toninho Horta, Lô Borges, Flávio Venturini , Angela RoRo and Joyce.

Her international career includes performances in the US, Europe (France, England, Switzerland, Portugal, Spain, Luxembourg, Germany, etc.), Asia (India) and recently, in early 2020, Russia (Moscow and Siberia). She also toured in Italy and throughout Brazil with the great composer and acoustic guitar player, Guinga. 

In 2014, Paula toured Austria with the musician and composer Alegre Corrêa. In 2014 and 2015, she toured the US, teaching Singing Workshops and performing in New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, Olympia (among other locations) with renowned musicians such as Jovino Santos Neto (Grammy nominee, member of Hermeto Pascoal’s band for over 20 years) and Otmaro Ruiz. 

She is one of the few Brazilian artists who has performed on BBC-TV London’s “Later with Jools Holland” program, singing on stage alongside Amy Winehouse. Her albums have gotten excellent reviews in Brazil and abroad (Europe, United States and Asia)
